FAQ

Are parents welcome in the classroom?

Always! We have an open-door policy and welcome any family members who would like to hang out with us. We also strive to make our classrooms accessible virtually, by frequently sharing with families photographs/videos of the children’s in-classroom experiences via StoryPark (an online digital learning portfolio) that documents individual child development as well as the classroom’s group learning journey and project-based work.

Are there opportunities for volunteering?

Yes! The U School frequently hosts volunteering events in the spirit of bringing together our community to take care of our shared environment. Beyond that, we always welcome enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about working with children in a happy, healthy, and inspired learning environment. Please visit the Engage page to contact the Director, Ryan Brown, and share your ideas.

Does my child need to be potty-trained in order to attend?

We recognize that the skill of using the bathroom is an individual journey and we are ready to support the child and their family on that journey. As such, we make no requirements for bathroom use skills for any of the children at any age.
